A whole book will likely be dedicated to just this topic within EM. There is so much to say about this topic, but mainly it comes down to this: most forms of infertility are infectious where the infectious organisms can be in either or both partners. A common error that is made in Western medicine is the assumption that if the male partner’s sperm has high motility and high numbers that everything is fine. However, if pathogens are ejaculated into the partner, an immune response will result rather than a welcoming one. The most common negative factors for fertility are species of tinea and Gu producing formic acid getting into the uterus. Their toxins are highly destructive to a developing embryo and will result in termination of a pregnancy often without the mother’s awareness of a successful pregnancy

Failure to treat these organisms means Candida will persist. Lastly, these same organisms commonly collect in Cuprizone. Failure to treat the cuprizone will result in persistent infection

Erectile Dysfunction
Unfortunately, I have had limited success with erectile dysfunction to date. The biggest problem is that Western pharmaceutical drugs often cause ED as a byproduct of their function and it is all but impossible to undo the constant force of these drugs on the penis. Blood vessel plaque with arteriosclerosis is another major contributor to ED. Nitric oxide and carbon monoxide are both essential for erections. Also necessary is an interest in sex. See the Low Libido section below. Improving circulation will take days and weeks to have its optimal impact and may actually reduce the ability to have an erection immediately after treatment

Libido can be a difficult issue to treat because there can be many factors including: history of sexual trauma or abuse, discomfort during sex including due to vaginal dryness (see that section below), hormone imbalances (often from peri-menopause, menopause, or as a byproduct of medications/hormonal supplementation), depression, fatigue resulting in the system resources focusing on systems that are more important for survival, lack of Fire Qi ‘spark’ about life

Estrogen and somatostatin increase fluidity in the local area. EM Level 4 Practitioners should see if these are insufficient in the vagina and increase them as necessary
Early Menarche & Sexual Precosity
Unfortunately, this is an issue that is only getting worse. The most likely cause of this is higher caloric intake but an alternative factor may be the amount of estrogenic plastic in our daily lives. To avoid early menarche, eating healthy and low processed foods are best to avoid the tremendous excess calories present on the modern Western diet. In Chinese medicine, early menarche was a sign of Jing Deficiency. For children who do not eat the modern Western diet who experience early menarche, this is still likely the case. However, in the Western world, it is likely that the body is simply ready earlier for menstruation because of “better” nutrition than would have been available hundreds of years ago
If necessary, apply the Jing Essence Treatment, if the child is listless, weak, and developing poorly

Delayed Menstruation/Puberty
If menstruation is unusually late, this may be an indicator of Jing and/or essence deficiency. This can also be the byproduct of anorexia and very low calorie intake.
